So the mighty Hammers faced Yorkshire's Huddersfield, now I've never visited the Town before and as you are aware I like a bit of food before a game, so thanks to Google I find a Pie & Mash gaff only 30 miles away in Skipton, North Yorkshire now thats got to be worth a butchers! Now my last visit with the Mrs for P&M was Bethnal Green's GF Kelly & i'll not review it because it was poor show on the day so I was looking for a footie pick you up! Ohhhhhhh how I was disappointed! How this place calls itself a Pie & Mash Shop I don't know at all it may have the nice little posters on the wall and a attempt of traditional seating but that was as authentic as it got , about 6 different Pies Cheesy type Mash and loads of Gravy but the worst thing was the Liquor it was even worse than my grammar and thats saying something! Please look at the pictures and I'll let you decide.........Yorkshire please stick to Pudding, Cheese and Rhubarb.
So my match routine is still not quite their yet ! I've tried a few pubs but not found a home so I thought I'd concentrate on my pre-match fodder, now I started at Nathan's many a year ago then moved further up the Barking road to Traditional P&M which I liked better quality pudding! Now I trust my Google maps and set of in search of the only match day food I will eat which fills my ever expanding waste line and stops me spending a fortune at the ground !!!! Jesus I could buy a two-up two-down terrace house in Accrington for the cost of fish & chips for me and the boy!!!
The road to Leyton is a long one don't walk too fast as you could walk straight passed it, don't walk too slow or the Albanian & Polak's may try to engage with you, once in thou its good and I mean good, a nice slightly unkept teen girl serving polite yet rude enough to remind us we are still in London! Double as normal Pie was awesome Mash was ice cream'd on NOT A FAN Liquor was very good I hope they add a little eel water, jellied eels were present but didn't fancy today......But alas this can't be my pre-match ritual.
Arsenal game next and a trip to the old ground (will break my heart) and the Hammers Social Club to see what the score is with the re-laubched West Ham United Independent Supporters Association.....OOoooohhh Trad is round the corner
Tomorrow we have our second away day! After Chelski I was too pissed off to comment and now we go North of The Border (Watford) for a lovely visit to The Emptyad home of the Moon Munchers Manchester City, now this place is a huge improvement from Maine Road although most of the fans are still kagool wearing mop heads who all think there Liam Gallagher, I don't rate our chances here but I will enjoy myself with such Northern delicacies as Black Pudding and Dripping! Please lets keep the score to single figures !!!!
Crossed Hammer's will have a representative covering every European game home & away, If its not Pie or Mash it will be newest member Liqour (Aptly named if you knew him!! Does like a slurp).
